If you are in receipt of an income based benefit, e.g. Income Support, Council Tax Benefit, Housing Benefit or Working Families Tax Credit etc, we can provide you with good quality second-hand furniture and household goods for a modest charge. We are also able to accept referrals from Social Services, housing, and other agencies. Please contact us if you need more information regarding eligibility.
Registering with Essential Needs
It couldn’t be simpler – just come along to our warehouse with proof of your benefit entitlement or a referral form. We will give you a membership card, valid for three months, which allows you access to our store, where you can choose the items you require. People’s circumstances change, hence the requirement to re-register every three months.
Each delivery is charged at £10, at a mutually agreed time. However, if no one is available to receive the goods, or we do not have clear access at that time, we reserve the right to charge a £10.00 redelivery fee, payable before the delivery is made.
We really do provide everything required to ‘turn an empty house into a home’, from pots and pans to bedding, from washers to cookers. As the stock is constantly changing, it is impracticable to list all that is available so it is worthwhile visiting periodically to see what is in stock.
